"When parents are present, children thrive!"
Children from joint custody homes are as successful as children from two parent homes.
Equally Present is committed to raising awareness of the importance of both parents being equally present and responsible for their children’s upbringing, and to drive legislative reform that results in the best outcome for children, parents, families, and society.
We strive to:
- Educate the public about the benefits of equally shared parenting
- Promote Child Custody legislative reform in the state of Georgia, USA
- Advocate for 50/50 Presumptive child custody
- Promote engaged parenting which leads to successful child outcomes, improved education levels, and reduces the child’s propensity to engage in criminal activities
When one parent is absent or has diminished access , evidence shows there is an increased rate of:
- Dropping out of school
- Mental health issues
- Not enrolling or completing higher education
- Family and social poverty
- Engaging in riskier behavior such as substance abuse or experiencing teenage pregnancy
- Ending up in juvenile detention centers or even jail
This cycle needs to stop! Our state needs custody legislation and judicial reform that will help all children thrive and grow.
